ECU Health

With a mission to improve the health and well-being of eastern North Carolina, ECU Health reaches more than 1.4 million people across 29 counties and employs nearly 14,000 people.

The system of care includes 1,708 beds across an academic medical center with two campuses, affiliated with The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. ECU Health Medical Center is a 974-bed, Level I trauma center and tertiary care referral center that offers extensive inpatient and outpatient services. Based in Greenville, the Medical Center is the flagship hospital of ECU Health. In addition, ECU Health operates eight other hospitals as well as numerous outpatient facilities, home health, hospice, and wellness centers. The system also includes a multi-specialty physician and provider group, offering access to more than 500 providers in 100+ practice locations. Designed to meet the unique health care needs of children, the Maynard Children’s Hospital - a Children’s Miracle Network hospital - is located on ECU Health’s Greenville campus with two Ronald McDonald House chapters nearby.

UNC Health Care

With affiliate hospitals in Lenoir, Craven, and Onslow counties, UNC Health Care is committed to serving individuals in the eastern and coastal portions of the state.

CarolinaEast Health System, an affiliate of UNC Health Care, has been proudly serving Craven County and surrounding areas for more than 55 years. The health system is a multi-facility healthcare provider serving the entire coastal North Carolina region. In addition to the 350-bed CarolinaEast Medical Center inpatient hospital, CarolinaEast Health System's family of services includes a diagnostic center, surgery center, home care, rehabilitation hospital, and wound healing and hyperbaric services. More than 250 physicians care for coastal Carolinians in the office setting and in the hospital.

Onslow Memorial Hospital (OMH), an affiliate of UNC Health Care, stands as a 162-bed acute care, community hospital located in coastal North Carolina, serving the city of Jacksonville and greater Onslow County. The hospital offers a vast array of healthcare services with state-of-the-art diagnostic services. Onslow Memorial Hospital also has a modern labor and delivery suite with state-of-the-art monitoring system, neonatal intensive care unit, newborn nursery, intensive care unit/coronary care unit, medical and surgical services, and rehabilitation services. A responsive emergency department and minor emergency care unit treats more than 50,000 patients annually.

UNC Lenoir Health Care

Licensed for 199 beds, is a not-for-profit hospital dedicated to the community it serves by offering quality inpatient, outpatient, and preventive health care services that are close to home. In addition to general medical, surgical, and obstetrical, and gynecological care, UNC Lenoir Health Care offers specialized services including cardiology, pulmonology, oncology, radiology, and urology. With a medical staff of over 100 physicians, UNC Lenoir Health Care offers a range of specialty services and technology you would only expect to find at hospitals in larger cities.

Carteret Health Care is a proud member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network. The independent, not-for-profit, 135-bed community hospital is part of a select group of independent health systems carefully vetted by Mayo Clinic and granted special access to Mayo’s knowledge, expertise and resources. Carteret Health Care passed Mayo’s comprehensive evaluation process that included an in-depth review of our organization, our clinical and business practices, and our quality, safety and service efforts.
